Accessibility

Usable by the people we build for.

Setell is built for shop owners and operators who work in real conditions — bright screens, small phones, tired eyes. We hold the product to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and we verify that claim rather than assert it.

Target standard
WCAG 2.1, Level AA — the benchmark referenced by the ADA, U.S. Section 508, and the European EN 301 549 procurement standard.
Scope
The Setell web app (go.setell.ai), this marketing site (setell.ai), and our product documentation.

Where we stand

What conforms today

Verified today across our web surfaces
  • Color contrast — every active text color meets or exceeds the AA 4.5:1 minimum on our reading surfaces, checked programmatically from our source design tokens on every change.
  • Keyboard operability — interactive controls are reachable and operable without a mouse, with a visible focus indicator.
  • Semantic structure — pages use real headings, landmarks, and form labels so assistive technology can navigate them.
  • Automated enforcement — accessibility linting runs in continuous integration and blocks regressions before they ship.
  • Resizing and reflow — content stays readable and functional when text is zoomed to 200%.

How we verify

We show our work.

Verification, not assertion
We treat accessibility the way we treat pricing: we show our work. Contrast ratios are computed from our design tokens on every change and must pass a Level-AA gate before code ships. Static accessibility rules (via eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y) run in continuous integration. We supplement automated checks with manual keyboard and screen-reader testing on core flows. When we say a surface meets AA, a check enforced it.

In progress

Known limitations

What we are still working on
Accessibility is ongoing work, and we would rather name the gaps than paper over them:
  • We are completing a full rendered-page audit of screen-reader flows and focus order across the authenticated app; some secondary screens are still under review.
  • A small number of accent-color-on-fill pairings meet AA at larger text sizes but fall just short at normal text sizes; these are known and under review.
  • Generated documents (PDF quotes and invoices) and transactional email are not yet held to the same conformance level as our web surfaces.
  • Third-party embedded components — such as payment and scheduling widgets — are governed by their providers’ accessibility support.

Report a barrier

We want to hear about it
If you hit an accessibility barrier anywhere in Setell, email hello@setell.ai with the page or feature and the assistive technology you were using. We will acknowledge within 5 business days and work with you toward a fix or an accommodation. A detailed conformance report (VPAT / ACR) is available to customers and prospective customers on request.
