Text Messaging & Consent

How customers consent to text messages.

Businesses use Setell to text their own customers about a quote, estimate, invoice, or job. Texting is always optional, never sent without the recipient's explicit prior consent, and never required to receive a quote, sign, or pay. This page shows exactly how that consent is captured.

Who sends the messages
Setell — operated by Timber Ridge Capital LLC— sends texts on behalf of the business you are working with, delivered through our messaging provider, Twilio. The business's name appears in every message.
What you receive
Transactional updates about your quote, estimate, signature request, invoice, or payment — and replies within a two-way conversation when you text back. No marketing or promotional texts.
Frequency & rates
Message frequency varies based on your job activity. Message and data rates may apply.
Opt out anytime
Reply STOP to stop all texts, or HELP for help. You can also turn texts off from your online quote portal.

The consent form

Where and how consent is captured

When a business shares a quote, the customer gets a private online portal. The opt-in form below appears there. The customer enters their own mobile number and checks the consent box — express written consent, captured per customer with a timestamp.

Text me
By checking this box, I agree to receive text messages about my quote from Summit Builders at the number provided. Message & data rates may apply; message frequency varies. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

The opt-in form as it appears in the customer's online quote portal. The consent box is unchecked by default — the customer must enter their own mobile number and actively check it. “Summit Builders” is the business's own name, shown dynamically.

How you opt in

Two ways to start receiving texts

Both paths require an affirmative action from you. Consent is never assumed, never pre-checked, and never bundled into another agreement.

1. On the web — express written consent
In your online quote portal, you enter your mobile number and check the consent box shown above. The exact disclosure reads:
“By checking this box, I agree to receive text messages about my quote from [business name] at the number provided. Message & data rates may apply; message frequency varies. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.”
2. By text — double opt-in confirmation
If a business has your mobile number, it can send you a one-time confirmation text. You only start receiving texts after you reply YES. The confirmation message reads:
Summit Builders: reply YES to get updates about your quote by text. Msg & data rates may apply, msg frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

No further texts are sent unless you reply YES (or START / UNSTOP). If you don't reply, nothing is sent.

Consent is optional — always
Opting in is never a condition of purchase. You can request a quote, ask questions, sign, and pay entirely by email or in your online portal without ever turning on texts.

Opting out & getting help

You are always in control

Stop all texts
Reply STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, CANCEL, or END at any time to stop all texts from that number. Opt-out is honored immediately and applies across every business that texts you from that number.
Get help
Reply HELP for assistance, contact the business directly, or email support@setell.ai.
Turn texts off in the portal
You can also turn texts off at any time directly from your online quote portal — no reply needed.

Your mobile information

How we handle your number

We never share opt-in data or sell your number
We use Twilio as our SMS service provider solely to deliver the messages you have consented to receive. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
  • Your number is used only to deliver the texts you opted in to receive from the business you are working with.
  • Consent is recorded per customer with a timestamp, and your opt-out is sticky — once you reply STOP, we keep that preference.
  • Full detail on data handling is in our Privacy Policy (Section 4a) and Terms of Service (Section 6a).
