Delete your account

Overview

You can delete your Setell account and everything in it whenever you want. This wipes your jobs, quotes, customers, and connections for good, cancels your subscription, and removes your account. It's permanent — there's no undo — so we make you type a confirmation first.

This cannot be undone. Once deleted, your data is gone. If you only want to stop paying, cancel your plan instead (see docs/account/upgrade-billing) — that keeps your data.

Before you start

  • If you want a copy of your data, request an export first — Setell can hand back a full copy of your jobs, quotes, and customers, and once you delete, it's gone.
  • Decide whether you really want delete, not just cancel. Canceling keeps your data; deleting does not.

Steps

  1. Open Settings and scroll to the Danger Zone at the bottom.
  2. In the Delete Account box, click Delete account….
  3. A confirmation appears: "Delete your Setell account?" Read it.
  4. Type DELETE MY ACCOUNT exactly into the box — this enables the button.
  5. Click Delete forever.

What gets deleted

  • All your jobs, quotes, line items, and revisions
  • All your customer records and customer memory
  • Your inbound and outbound emails, templates, and uploaded files
  • Your connections — Gmail, QuickBooks, Slack (their tokens are revoked first)
  • Your subscription (canceled on Stripe)
  • Your settings and your account itself
A small set of compliance audit logs is retained as required by law — these contain no quote, customer, or business content.

What happens next

  • You're signed out and your account no longer exists.
  • Your paid subscription is canceled, so you won't be charged again.
  • Customers can no longer open any Deal Room links you'd shared.

Troubleshooting

  • The "Delete forever" button is greyed out. You must type DELETE MY ACCOUNT exactly — all caps, with spaces. Check for a stray space or a typo.
  • I just want to stop being billed. Don't delete — cancel instead from Settings → Billing → Manage Billing. Canceling keeps your data; deleting destroys it.
  • I deleted by mistake. Deletion is permanent and can't be reversed. You'd need to start a fresh account; your old data can't be restored.
  • Still stuck → docs/reference/troubleshooting.

FAQ

  • Can I get my data back after deleting? No. Deletion is permanent. Export first if you want a copy.
  • Will deleting cancel my subscription? Yes — your plan is canceled as part of deletion, so there are no more charges.
  • What about my QuickBooks and Gmail connections? Their access is revoked during deletion, so Setell can no longer reach them.
  • Is there a difference between cancel and delete? Yes. Cancel drops you to Free and keeps your data. Delete removes everything.
  • How do I export my data first? Setell can return a full copy of your data (your jobs, quotes, and customers) before you delete — request it from support if you don't see an export option in your account.
