Preview & send a quote
Overview
When a quote's ready, Setell writes the email for you, shows you exactly what the customer will get, and sends it with a link to their deal room. You review before anything goes out — nothing is sent behind your back. The whole thing takes under a minute.
Before you start
- A quote at the Awaiting approval stage (you've drafted or edited it).
- A few seconds to read the draft email.
Steps
- On the job, click Send to customer.
- Setell writes a draft email. Read it on the Preview tab — this is what the customer sees.
- Want a different feel? Switch the Tone — Friendly, Formal, or Brief — and it rewrites.
- Need to tweak the wording yourself? Use the Edit tab.
- Tick Attach PDF quote if you want a clean PDF on the email too (optional).
- Send it.
Send straight from the dashboard (Quick Send)
When Setell has drafted quotes waiting on you, your dashboard shows a quotes ready to send card — AI-drafted and waiting for your review. Click Review & Send on one and you get Quick Send: a single screen with the quote's line items on top and the drafted email underneath.
- Read the line items. You can fix a description, quantity, or price right there — no trip to the job page.
- Read the email in Email Preview. Switch the Tone — Friendly, Formal, or Brief — and it rewrites.
- Click Send Quote.
It's the same send, with the same safeguards — just one screen instead of two. Need the full job? Full view takes you there and nothing is lost. If you've connected Slack, the quote ready notification links straight to this screen too (docs/integrations/slack).
What happens next
- The customer gets the email with a link to their deal room, where they can view the quote, approve it, sign, and pay — all branded as you. See
docs/deal-room/overview. - The job moves to Sent, and you'll see when the customer opens it.
- You can nudge a quiet customer with Send a nudge (one per day), mark it accepted if they say yes by phone, or Recall it if you need to pull it back. See
docs/quotes/recall.
Troubleshooting
- The draft email isn't quite right. Try a different Tone, hit Regenerate, or just fix it yourself on the Edit tab before sending.
- Sending is blocked / asks me to reconnect. Your sending isn't connected. Follow the reconnect prompt in Settings and try again. Your quote is untouched.
- It's late and I'm worried about timing. Setell will offer to schedule the send for 9am tomorrow — quotes sent in the morning get same-day replies far more often. You can also send now. See
docs/quotes/schedule-send. - Customer says they didn't get it. Ask them to check spam, confirm the email address on the job is right, then re-send.
FAQ
- Will it send without me? No. In the default Watch mode you always preview and confirm. (You can let Setell handle routine sends on its own later — see
docs/autonomy/overview.) - Can I change the email after it's sent? No — email can't be unsent. But you can Recall the quote so the customer can no longer view or accept it, then revise and re-send.
- Does the customer need an account? No. They just open the link.
- Can Setell send for me? Yes — Setell previews the quote, you confirm, and it sends. Same review-before-send safety. See
docs/studio/draft-and-revise.
