What's gated by plan

Overview

Setell has three plans: Free, Business ($49/mo), and Pro ($99/mo). The idea is simple — you get the full experience to start, and you upgrade when you outgrow the volume. This page is the quick answer to "what do I get on each plan?"

Setell gates how much, not what. You can draft, send, sign, and get paid on every plan. Paid plans raise the limits and unlock QuickBooks, deeper AI memory, and a few power features.

How the counts work

  • Free is 3 AI quotes a month. Boxx stays a 25-message lifetime cap. New accounts start with 14 days of unlimited Pro before settling onto Free.
  • Business counts reset every billing period. 50 AI quotes and 200 Boxx messages, fresh each month.
  • Pro is unlimited. Nothing is counted on AI quotes or Boxx messages.
  • Revisions are free. A revision (v2, v3…) doesn't use a new AI-quote credit — only the first draft of a job does.

What stays the same on every plan

Templates, the branded customer Deal Room (view, e-sign, card payment), creating jobs, and sending quotes all work on Free. Upgrading doesn't unlock the basics — it unlocks volume and the deeper tools.

When you hit a limit

If you run out of AI quotes or Boxx messages, Setell tells you right where it happens and shows the upgrade. Your data stays exactly where it is — you just can't generate new AI work until you upgrade or your month resets.

If you cancel or your payment lapses

Paid features (QuickBooks, pricing memory, Trust/Auto, etc.) switch off and you go back to Free-tier limits. Nothing is deleted — your jobs, quotes, and customers stay. Resubscribe and the paid features come right back.

Troubleshooting

  • A button says "upgrade" but I'm on a paid plan. Your subscription may have lapsed (failed card or canceled). Check Settings → Billing; if it's past due, fix the card and the feature returns. Still off → docs/reference/troubleshooting.
  • I upgraded but a feature is still locked. Give it a moment — billing updates within seconds. Refresh the page. If it persists, see docs/account/upgrade-billing.
  • QuickBooks won't connect. QuickBooks is a Business and Pro feature — connect after upgrading. See docs/integrations/quickbooks.

FAQ

  • Do I need a credit card to try Setell? No. Free needs no card.
  • What's the difference between Business and Pro? Business gives you monthly volume, QuickBooks, and pricing memory. Pro is unlimited AI plus customer texting (Deal Room SMS), custom PDF/Word templates, drawing files, auto-revision proposals, and the agent (MCP) surface.
  • Is there a trial? Yes — every account starts with 14 days of unlimited Pro, free, then moves to the Free plan (3 quotes a month). No card, nothing deleted. See docs/account/trials.
  • Do revisions count against my AI quota? No. Only the first draft of a job uses a credit.
  • What happens to my data if I downgrade? It all stays. You just return to Free-tier limits and lose access to paid-only features until you upgrade again.
