What's gated by plan
Overview
Setell has four plans: Free, Solo ($14.99/mo), Business ($49/mo), and Pro ($99/mo). The idea is simple — you get the full experience to start, and you upgrade when you outgrow the volume. This page is the quick answer to "what do I get on each plan?"
Setell gates _how much_, not _what_. You can draft, send, get paid, and connect QuickBooks on every plan. Paid plans raise the limits and unlock deeper AI memory (pricing learned from your QuickBooks history) and a few power features.

Trust and Auto are two different lines. Trust mode comes with any paid plan; Auto mode — the fully hands-off one, and the morning brief that goes with it — starts at Business. See docs/autonomy/overview.
How the counts work
- Free is 3 AI quotes a month. AI messages stay a 25-message lifetime cap, and the month rolls over on the 1st. New accounts start with 14 days of unlimited Pro before settling onto Free.
- Solo and Business counts reset every billing period — the date you subscribed, not the 1st. Solo is 10 AI quotes and 100 AI messages; Business is 50 and 200.
- Pro is unlimited. Nothing is counted on AI quotes or AI messages.
- Revisions are free. A revision (v2, v3…) doesn't use a new AI-quote credit — only the first draft of a job does.
What stays the same on every plan
Templates, the branded customer Deal Room (view and card payment), creating jobs, and sending quotes all work on Free. Upgrading doesn't unlock the _basics_ — it unlocks volume and the deeper tools.
Your customer signing a contract in the Deal Room is the one Deal Room piece that isn't on every plan — turning e-signature on is a Pro feature. See docs/deal-room/contract-signing.
When you hit a limit
If you run out of AI quotes or AI messages, Setell tells you right where it happens and shows the upgrade. Your data stays exactly where it is — you just can't generate _new_ AI work until you upgrade or your month resets.
If you cancel or your payment lapses
Paid features (pricing memory, Trust/Auto, etc.) switch off and you go back to Free-tier limits. Nothing is deleted — your jobs, quotes, and customers stay. Resubscribe and the paid features come right back.
Troubleshooting
- A button says "upgrade" but I'm on a paid plan. Your subscription may have lapsed (failed card or canceled). Check Settings → Billing; if it's past due, fix the card and the feature returns. Still off →

FAQ
- Do I need a credit card to try Setell? No. Free needs no card.
- What's the difference between Business and Pro? Business gives you monthly volume, Auto mode, Xero, and pricing memory learned from your QuickBooks history. Pro is unlimited AI plus contract signing, Deal Room chat, customer texting (Deal Room SMS), custom PDF/Word templates, auto-revision proposals from drawings, and the agent (MCP) surface. (QuickBooks connects free on every plan, and reading CAD & STEP drawings is free on every plan too — Pro adds the _autonomous revision_ layer on top.)
- Where does Solo fit? Solo is the smallest paid step: pricing memory, Trust mode, unlimited attachments, and image/PDF/voice reading, at lower volume than Business. It's sold in the Setell mobile app rather than on the web — see
docs/account/plans. - Is there a trial? Yes — every account starts with 14 days of unlimited Pro, free, then moves to the Free plan (3 quotes a month). No card, nothing deleted. See
docs/account/trials. - Do revisions count against my AI quota? No. Only the first draft of a job uses a credit.
- What happens to my data if I downgrade? It all stays. You just return to Free-tier limits and lose access to paid-only features until you upgrade again.
