Hover (measurement import)
Overview
Hover (hover.to) turns photos of a property into a verified exterior measurement report — roof area, pitch, ridge and valley lengths, siding area. Connect your Hover account and Setell can pull those measurements straight onto a job: the numbers land as quantities (the price drivers), plus a scoping note the next quote draft reads. Setell never sets prices from a measurement — your own rates price the work; Hover just supplies the verified takeoff.
Before you start
- A Hover account you can sign in to (you'll approve access on Hover's site).
- At least one Hover job with a completed measurement report — reports are purchased in your Hover account. Setell doesn't resell Hover reports or mark them up; importing them is included.
Steps
- Go to Settings → Connections and find the Hover card.
- Click Connect to Hover.
- Approve access on Hover's screen. You land back in Setell and the card reads Connected — ask Studio to import Hover measurements onto a job.
- Open a job in Studio and ask: "import Hover measurements onto this job." Setell lists your recent Hover jobs — pick the right one and the import runs.
What happens next
- The report's numbers — roof area, facet count, dominant pitch, ridge/hip, valley, rake and eave lengths, siding area, opening count — are written onto the job as measured quantities.
- A scoping note is attached to the job so the next quote draft starts from the verified takeoff instead of a guess.
- Quantities only, never prices: your learned rates (your history, your price book) do the pricing. The measurement shows its provenance on every surface, so you always know a number came from Hover.
- Not sure which Hover job to use? Ask Studio to "list my recent Hover jobs" — same tool, discovery mode.
Troubleshooting
- Card still says "Not connected" after approving. The approval didn't complete. Click Connect to Hover and run through Hover's screen again.
- "Hover is not connected. Connect in Settings first." The import was asked for before the connection finished. Connect on the Hover card, then ask again.
- Card says "Reconnect required — token expired." Hover access lapsed. Click Reconnect on the card and approve again — nothing already imported is lost.
- The measurements look incomplete. Hover sells report tiers (roof-only vs complete). Setell imports whatever sections your report contains; a roof-only report simply has no siding numbers to import.

FAQ
- Does Setell change anything in Hover? No. The import is read-only, one direction.
- Does this price my quote? No. Measurements propose quantities only — your own rates price them. That split is deliberate.
- What does it cost? Hover reports are purchased in your own Hover account, at your Hover pricing. Setell doesn't resell them; the import itself is included.
- Can I re-import? Yes — re-importing refreshes the job's measured quantities from the report. It won't duplicate the job.
- Can Setell request a capture from my customer? Not yet. Today's integration is pull-based: you (or your homeowner) capture in Hover, then import into Setell. Automatic import when a report finishes (webhooks) and homeowner capture links are planned.
