Send from your own domain

Overview

Make your quotes arrive from your own address — quotes@yourdomain.com — instead of a generic Setell address. You add a few DNS records once, Setell verifies them, and from then on customers see emails from you, with full deliverability and no "via setell.ai" tag. It's the difference between looking like a real business and looking like a tool.

Before you start

  • Access to your domain's DNS settings (your registrar — GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.).
  • A few minutes now, plus a short wait for DNS to take effect.
  • This is on every plan. Until you verify a domain, quotes send from quotes@setell.ai with your business name on the From line.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Connections and find the Sending domain card.
  2. Type your domain (like yourdomain.com) and click Set up domain.
  3. Setell shows three DNS records. In your registrar's DNS panel, add each one — copy the Name and Value with the copy buttons.
  4. Back in Setell, the card shows Awaiting DNS and auto-checks every 30 seconds. You can also click Check now.
  5. When the records are live, the card flips to Verified and shows the address your customers will see.

What happens next

  • Once verified, quotes send as quotes@yourdomain.com automatically — nothing else to switch on.
  • Leave the DNS records in place. Removing them will break sending.
  • Records usually take effect in 5–15 minutes, but can take up to 48 hours. Setell keeps checking.

Troubleshooting

  • Card stuck on "Awaiting DNS." The records aren't live yet or don't match. Re-check that each Name and Value matches exactly (copy-paste, don't retype), then click Check now. Give DNS time — up to 48 hours in rare cases.
  • "Verification failed." Same fix — confirm the records match exactly and click Check now. Use Show me how for provider-specific steps.
  • Records weren't returned. Click Re-register on the card to refresh the records.

FAQ

  • What address will customers see? quotes@yourdomain.com once verified.
  • What if I don't set this up? Quotes still send — from quotes@setell.ai with your business name on the From line.
  • Do I need a tech person? Most people can do it. If your DNS panel is confusing, Show me how walks you through your exact provider.
  • Can I remove the records later? Don't — removing them breaks sending from your domain.
