Slack notifications

Overview

Get a ping in Slack the moment a customer does something on a quote — opens it, approves it, signs, or pays. Connect your workspace once, then pick which events you want to hear about. No more refreshing the dashboard to see if they bit.

Before you start

  • A Slack workspace you can add an app to.
  • Slack notifications are on every plan.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Connections and find the Slack card.
  2. Click Add to Slack and approve the app in your workspace. You land back in Setell and the card reads Connected to <your workspace>.
  3. In the Slack notifications panel just below the card, turn on the events you want.
  4. Click Test on the Slack card to send yourself a test message and confirm it lands.

The events you can turn on

Each one is its own switch — turn on only what matters to you:

  • Customer viewed a quote
  • Customer approved a quote
  • Customer declined a quote
  • Customer signed a quote
  • Customer sent a portal message
  • Customer signed a contract
  • Customer declined a contract
  • Customer paid an invoice

What happens next

  • Pings land in your connected workspace as each event happens.
  • Notifications only fire when Slack is connected and the matching event switch is on.
  • Turn any event off anytime, or click Disconnect on the Slack card to stop everything.

Troubleshooting

  • "Couldn't send to Slack. Check your webhook URL." The Test button couldn't reach your workspace. Disconnect and reconnect Slack, then test again.
  • Connected, but no pings. Check the specific event is switched on in the Slack notifications panel — the connection and the per-event switches are separate.
  • Switches are greyed out. They stay disabled until your workspace is connected. Connect Slack first.

FAQ

  • Do I have to turn on every event? No — each is opt-in. Pick the ones you care about.
  • Where do the messages go? To the workspace you connect during setup.
  • Can I test before I rely on it? Yes — the Test button sends a sample message right away.
  • Does this cost extra? No, it's on every plan.
