Triage your review inbox

Overview

When email flows into Setell, it doesn't become a job silently. Setell reads each one, decides how likely it is to be a real quote request, and puts the uncertain ones in front of you. The Review Inbox is where you clear them — a few seconds each.

You'll find it as Inbox in the left nav, with a count when something's waiting.

Before you start

  • An inbound path set up, so email actually reaches Setell. See docs/getting-started/email-intake.

Clear what's waiting

  1. Open Inbox. Anything needing you sits at the top under Review Inbox.
  2. Each row shows who it's from, the subject, and Setell's read of it — Likely quote, Maybe, or Unlikely, with a percentage.
  3. Approve a real request. Setell creates the job (and the customer, if they're new) and starts drafting the quote.
  4. Reject what isn't one — spam, a duplicate, a supplier's newsletter.
  5. Got a run of obvious ones? Tick several and use Approve Selected.
Rejecting is permanent. It can't be undone, and no job is created. When you're not sure, approve it — an unwanted job can be archived later, a rejected email can't be brought back.

What Setell already handled

Below your pending rows is Auto-approved — email Setell was confident enough about to turn into jobs without asking. It's a log, not a to-do: the jobs already exist. Recent ones are flagged new.

Use Archive to clear a handled row you've seen, or Archive all to clear the section. Archiving only tidies the list — it never touches the job.

What happens next

  • Approved email becomes a job in your pipeline, already being drafted. See docs/quotes/draft-quote.
  • Attachments ride along — a drawing or spec on the email becomes part of the job (docs/quotes/attachments).
  • How much lands in Auto-approved versus in front of you follows your autonomy setting. See docs/autonomy/overview.
  • You can do all of this from Studio too: "what's waiting in my inbox?", "that one's real, turn it into a job."

Troubleshooting

  • The inbox is empty but customers have emailed me. Mail isn't reaching Setell yet. Check your forwarding rule on the Email intake card — see docs/getting-started/email-intake.
  • Real requests are being marked Unlikely. Approve them anyway. Setell's read is a suggestion, never a gate, and it sharpens as it sees more of your work.
  • I rejected something by mistake. It can't be un-rejected. Create the job by hand and carry on — see docs/quotes/create-job.
  • Everything is auto-approving and I'd rather check first. Turn autonomy back toward Watch. See docs/autonomy/watch.
  • Still stuck → docs/reference/troubleshooting.

FAQ

  • Does approving send anything to the customer? No. It creates the job and drafts the quote. Nothing goes out until you send it.
  • What's the percentage next to each email? How confident Setell is that it's a quote request. It's there to help you skim, not to decide for you.
  • Can Setell reject things on its own? No. Rejection is always your call — and Setell won't act on instructions written inside an email either.
  • Is archiving the same as rejecting? No. Archive just clears a handled row from the list; the job stays exactly where it is.
