Territory — who to call this week

Add-on

Overview

The job page answers "what about this roof?". Territory answers "which properties in the areas I work deserve a knock first?" — and that answer is a list, worst first, with an address on every row.

You save the areas you actually work as named territories, scan them, and Setell ranks what it found. The map is there as evidence behind a toggle; the list is the front door.

A score here is a triage order, not a judgement on the roof. It says "look here first" — built from what one capture allowed Setell to see. That's why nothing on this page is coloured like a traffic light.

Before you start

  • The Roof Intelligence add-on has to be active. See docs/roof/overview.
  • Nothing else to set up. Territory reads public imagery by geography, so it doesn't need any of your job data.

Create a territory

  1. Open Territory from the left nav.
  2. Click New territory.
  3. Name it something you'll recognise — Brookside, North of the river, Tuesday route.
  4. Set the area. Either pick one of the suggested districts, or type a centre point and a radius — for example 39.0175, -94.5905, 0.75mi.
  5. Save it. It sticks around, so you can come back and rescan.

Scan it

  1. Open the territory and run the scan.
  2. Setell pulls the public building footprints in that box, reads each roof against the best imagery it has, and ranks them.
  3. You get a list, worst first. Click any row to see that roof's full report — the same findings and refusals as the job-page report (docs/roof/report).

One scan covers a district, not a county: up to about 25 km² and 500 buildings. If your area is bigger, scan it in sections — that's the intended way to work it.

Reading the ranking

Every score comes with words, because a bare number invites you to invent your own meaning:

  • 50 and up — Priority, call them. Several findings, read confidently.
  • 25 to 49 — Needs attention. Enough was found to be worth a door.
  • 1 to 24 — Minor, worth a look. Something was found, but thinly or at low confidence.
  • 0 — Nothing flagged. Nothing rose above this capture's detection floor. Not the same as a clean roof.
  • Not read yet. No check could run at all — too coarse, or no elevation data. Not a clean roof; a roof nobody has read.

Setell also shows why a roof scored what it did, in a sentence — how many findings carried points, and what pulled the score down (low-confidence findings, or imagery too coarse for the fine defect classes).

Ask Setell instead

In Studio: "Scan Brookside again and show me the worst ten" or "What are my top roof prospects?" Setell can list your territories, create one, rename or adjust one, rescan, and hand back the ranked list — see docs/studio/what-you-can-ask.

Over MCP, your own agent can run an area scan and read a single roof directly. Territory management and the prospect list are not published as agent tools yet — see docs/mcp/capabilities.

What happens next

  • Territories persist. Rescan whenever you want; Setell shows you what changed.
  • Clicking into a property gives you its roof report, and where public county records are available, its property record.
  • Nothing here creates a job or contacts anyone. It's a list to work from — what you do with it is yours.

Troubleshooting

  • I see an offer instead of the workspace. The add-on isn't active on your account. See docs/roof/overview.
  • "That box is too long in one direction." A scan covers a district. Split it and scan in sections.
  • The scan stopped at 500 buildings. That's the per-scan ceiling and there were more. Scan the area in smaller pieces.
  • Everything came back "Not read yet". That area only has coarse imagery, or no elevation data. There's nothing to tune — the captures don't support the checks.
  • A property has no address. Setell shows what the public record gave it. Not every footprint resolves to a street address.
  • Still stuck → docs/reference/troubleshooting.

FAQ

  • Does this find me phone numbers or emails? No. Territory reports property and roof facts from public records and public imagery. It doesn't build contact lists.
  • Can I scan a whole city at once? No — a scan is a district. That ceiling is deliberate; it keeps each scan fast and the public sources it reads unabused.
  • Does scanning use my AI quota? No. It isn't metered against AI quotes or AI messages.
  • Is the map the same imagery the scores came from? Yes — the basemap is drawn from the same captures Setell measured, so you're looking at what it looked at.
  • Do scores change over time? They change when a newer capture becomes available and you rescan. Setell doesn't quietly re-score behind you.
