Send your first quote

Overview

Here's the whole point of Setell: get a real, branded quote in front of a customer fast. This walks you from a fresh account to a sent quote. Two ways to start — pick a template, or just describe the job to Boxx. Both end with a quote you can edit and send.

Before you start

  • You've set up your brand (logo + color). New? See docs/getting-started/brand-setup — or skip it and come back.
  • A job in mind. For the demo: 50 aluminum brackets for Northwest Fabrication.

Steps

  1. After brand setup you land on Your templates. Setell already built a few starting points for your trade.
  2. Pick a template — click one and a live preview shows your logo, color, line items, and total.
  3. Click Use this template. Setell creates a real quote and shows it under Your first quote.
  4. Prefer to describe the job? Click Or describe a job to Boxx and type it — "Quote 50 aluminum brackets for Northwest Fabrication." Boxx drafts the quote for you.
  5. On Your first quote, click Edit and send this quote. That opens the job so you can tweak line items, quantities, and prices.
  6. When it looks right, send it. Your customer gets a branded quote with a link to view, approve, and pay.

What happens next

  • Your quote is now Sent and the job is live in your pipeline. See docs/quotes/pipeline.
  • Your customer opens one branded link — the Deal Room — to view and approve. See docs/deal-room/overview.
  • When they approve, ask for changes, sign, or pay, your job moves forward on its own. You don't have to chase a status.
  • Need a change before sending? Edit anything on the quote — nothing's locked in until you send.

Troubleshooting

  • No templates showed up. Give it a second and refresh — Setell builds them right after brand setup. Or click Or describe a job to Boxx and describe the job instead.
  • Boxx said it made a quote but I don't see one. Ask Boxx again to "draft a quote," or pick a template above. The quote only counts once a real job exists.
  • The price looks too high or low. That's fine — click Edit and send this quote and change any line. Early on, Setell is guessing from industry norms; it gets sharper as you send more. See docs/quotes/edit-line-items.
  • I want to send later. Click Go to Dashboard — your quote is saved as a draft you can finish anytime.

FAQ

  • Is this a real quote or a sample? Real. You can edit it and send it to an actual customer.
  • Template or Boxx — which is better? Templates are fastest when one fits your job. Boxx is best when the job is custom. Both make a real, editable quote.
  • Can I edit before sending? Yes — line items, quantities, prices, notes. Nothing's final until you send.
  • What does my customer see? A branded page with your logo and color where they view, approve, and pay. No login needed.
