Upgrade & manage billing

Overview

Upgrading takes about a minute. You pick a plan, pay on Stripe's secure checkout, and you're back in Setell with the new limits already on. Changing cards, downloading invoices, or canceling all happen in one place — the billing portal.

Before you start

  • A card to pay with (handled by Stripe — Setell never sees your card number).
  • 1 minute.

Upgrade to a paid plan

  1. Open Settings and find the Billing card.
  2. Click Upgrade — from $49/mo (or Upgrade to Pro if you're already on Business).
  3. You land on Stripe's secure checkout. Enter your card and confirm.
  4. You come straight back to Setell, and the Billing card shows your new plan.
Your new limits are live the moment checkout finishes — no waiting, no re-login.

Manage your billing (cards, invoices, cancel)

  1. On the Billing card, click Manage Billing.
  2. You're sent to the Stripe billing portal. From here you can update your card, view and download past invoices, switch billing to yearly, or cancel.
  3. Close the portal when you're done — your Setell Billing card reflects any change.

What happens next

  • Upgrade: limits lift right away; QuickBooks, custom templates, and other extras unlock based on your new plan.
  • Cancel: you keep your paid plan until the end of the period you already paid for, then drop to Free rules. Your jobs, quotes, and history stay safe.
  • Switch to yearly: Stripe shows you the new price before you confirm.

Troubleshooting

  • The upgrade button just spins. Give it a few seconds — it's opening Stripe in the background. If nothing happens, refresh Settings and try again.
  • I paid but Setell still shows the old plan. The plan flips as soon as Stripe confirms the payment. Refresh the page; if it's still wrong after a minute, the change is recorded on Stripe's side and will catch up — contact support with the date and time.
  • "Manage Billing" won't open. That portal only exists once you've had a paid plan. If you've never upgraded, use Upgrade instead.

FAQ

  • Does Setell store my card? No. Payment and your card live entirely with Stripe.
  • Can I pay yearly? Yes — switch to yearly inside the billing portal, or pick the yearly option on the pricing page. Yearly is cheaper per month.
  • How do I get an invoice? Open Manage Billing → your past invoices are there to view and download.
  • What happens to my data if I cancel? Nothing is deleted. You move to Free limits and lose the paid extras until you resubscribe.
  • Can I downgrade from Pro to Business? Yes — change your plan in the billing portal.
